SPRAYING METAL
Automotive body work has a little known technology that eliminates rust problems.
The Rustbusters system sprays pure metal into a rusty area and fills that area and repairs rust damage using a specially manufactured metal spraying machine. Zinc is sprayed through this welding machine with a welding gun, and then the molten zinc is rapidly sprayed onto the prepared repair area, which fuses the repair area with the zinc creating a mechanical bond.
When the zinc is sprayed onto the repair area it acts as a corrosion barrier, and actually galvanizes the steel, stopping all rusting in that area.
This process is used in restoration and custom body work; from filling and repairing holes and seams to building up areas as a filler. The material can be sprayed on as needed, either paper-thin or as built up as thick as required, depending on the repair. After the repair the filled and/or repaired area is much stronger and without the rusting under it like lead. It is much harder and more durable than typical plastic repairs.
The Rustbuster machine is the key to the spraying system. The repair begins by sandblasting the rusted area cleaning all rust away. After sandblasting and cleaning the area it can be sprayed with zinc. After filling the damaged area repair can be worked by hand then primed and completed.
This process eliminates seams where patch panels have been installed and this system repairs and absolutely eliminates pitted metal parts and can be rechromed if desired.
